How Could This Ever Happen?

As most of you all know, there has been a huge change in the adoption world in the last day or so. Imagine Adoption Agency has declared bankruptcy. We did not use this agency, but many, many of our friends have and are currently in a contract with them. This means many families are now heartbroken, distraught, emotionally and financially exhausted. Several of our on-line friends have referrals of children through this agency and are scrambling to find options to stay in Ethiopia or to get resources together to get their children home as soon as possible. For our other friends who have been waiting for a referral with IA for months or even years now, have poured life savings, and all of your hope, faith and trust into this agency to bring their dreams of having a family....our heart goes out to you at this time. I cannot comprehend the absolute nightmare this brings to all of you.

And with this I count my blessings even more than I did before. I know how difficult waiting for our dreams of having a family were. I cannot wrap my head around the fact of being so involved in developing a dream of a family to have it taken away from you in the blink of an eye. I just am speechless. There is just nothing to say that can encompass the shear shock and devestation this must cause for the hundreds of families involved. We are thinking of you all.

Thank you to a birth mother, to CAFAC and to Ethiopia for bringing our daughter home to us.

After all of the craziness of the last two days I just had to smile at the picture you just posted. It reminds us of why we are doing this in the first place. Thank you.

You are very blessed.

I agree, the whole 'blink of an eye' thing is out of some sort of nightmare. My brain can not fully compute all of this.

I was absolutely astounded when I heard this. Like you I just can't even begin to imagine how this happened and how hurt and angry the families involved are.

My heart and prayers go out to everyone.
